Creative Commons began 5 years ago as a means to share artistic data, moving beyond the original restrictive copyright.
This video "Building on the Past" created by Justin Cone won first place in Creative Common’s contest in 2004, utilizing the ideas of Creative Commons and is provided here as introduction to the concept.
